Won Tae-in (23), a native ace of the professional baseball Samsung Lions, is currently undergoing personal training in Miami, Florida, USA.
Audrey Samer Despaine, a former foreign pitcher of kt wiz, invited kt Young-pyo Ko and Joon So-jun to his American mansion for a joint training last year, and Joon Sohn offered Tae-in Won to join them, seizing a good opportunity.
Won Tae-in, who left for the United States with Go Young-pyo and So-jun So-jun in December of last year, is training vigorously for the new season in warm Florida.
Won Tae-in, who was contacted on the 10th (Korean time), said, “I am having a lot of good experiences.”
As Won Tae-in said, 2023 is special. Right away, the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) will be held in March, and the Hangzhou Asian Games will be held in September. When the season is over, the 2023 Premier12 awaits.
Won Tae-in has boarded the WBC national team, and there is a high possibility of participating in the Asian Games. 스포츠토토
“This year will be a really important year,” he said. “I have to improve my physical condition to the best by March when the WBC is held, and this is the first time since my debut. I’m working hard in off-season exercises with that much effort.”
Won Tae-in is getting a lot of help from the best players in Miami.
He is learning a lot from his national teammates Ko Young-pyo and So-young Jun as well as from Des Paine.
And that’s not all.
Won Tae-in said, “There is a sports center in Despaine’s mansion, so you can do indoor training.
“I’m having a good experience, getting to know Chapman’s training method,” he added.
Chapman is the best fireballer who dominated the American professional baseball Major League (MLB) with his fastball of 169 km at the highest speed.
He posted double-digit saves for eight consecutive seasons from 2012, and in the 2021 season, he went 6-4 with 30 saves and an earned run average of 3.36, blocking the back door of the Yankees.
After performing rather poorly in the 2022 season, he was released as a free agent (FA).
Chapman is training with Despine, who is also from Cuba.
Won Tae-in said, “rather than Chapman, his personal coach gives a lot of advice on how to train and how to throw the ball,” and said, “I will learn a lot.”
He also promised to do well in the WBC.
Won Tae-in said, “I went downtown a few days ago and stopped by Miami’s Rondipo Park.”
Londippo Park is the site of the WBC semi-finals and finals. Korea passed the first round of the finals held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan,
To the question, ‘Do you have the confidence to come to Londippo Park again?’, Won Tae-in said, “You must always have confidence.”
