LA Angels pitching and hitting star 안전놀이터 Shohei Ohtani has only one left until 40 home runs.
Otani hit a solo shot over the fence behind right field against Kevin Gausman after one out in the first inning of the 2023 Major League game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on the 29th (Korea Standard Time).
Ohtani’s 39th home run of the season. Ohtani hit Gausman’s first fastball of 93.4 miles per hour (about 150.3 kilometers) and went over the fence. It was a 397-foot home run. Otani has only one home run left until 40 home runs in a season in two years since his 46 home runs in 2021.
It was an even greater home run after his great performance the previous day (28th). Ohtani started in one doubleheader game against the Detroit Tigers on the 28th and achieved a shutout of one hit, three walks, eight strikeouts and no runs in nine innings.
In the second game of the doubleheader, he struck out in the first inning and hit a two-run homer over the left wall in the second inning with two outs and two outs in the fourth inning. Ohtani was replaced by a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, his next at-bat, so his home run on the 29th became a three-game home run.
Ohtani’s home run gave the Angels a 1-0 lead. Otani, who showed symptoms of back spasms the day before, scored from the first inning and gave scoring support to his new teammate Lucas Giolito.
