Real make two visits to sign Munich’s ‘present and future’… Munich’s ‘ambiguous reaction’

Real Madrid have made an enquiry about Bayern Munich’s Alfonso Davies.

“Real really like Davies,” German publication Bild reported on Monday (June 6), citing Spanish publication Marca. They asked Munich about the possibility of negotiating a transfer for Davies, and the Bavarians did not give a firm no to the request.”

Real have suffered from a left-back drought this season. After Marcelo’s decline in form and departure, they don’t have a proper left fullback. Per Mendy, the €53 million acquisition in 2019 to replace him, has shown up-and-down form and frequent injuries that make him a poor bet for the future.

This season has been a makeshift affair. They have David Alaba, but he’s more of a center back. Nacho Fernandez, the ‘all-round backup’, is likely to be out of contract at the end of the season. Eduardo Camabinga has done a decent job at left back, but he needs to play in the midfield.

For now, the return of Pran Garcia is a breath of fresh air. Fran Garcia, who has been playing for Rayo Vallecano since leaving Real in 2020, needs to improve in defense, but his kicking ability is adequate and can help.

Still, the reason for targeting Davis is clear. Davies is a fantastic player who can play for any big club. He’s particularly strong in attack with his blistering pace, and he’s also a solid defender, anchoring Munich’s left back line.

However, he is showing signs of becoming a glass house. This season, he has missed nine games due to four different injuries. Most of them were muscle-related injuries that are prone to recurrence, so it’s likely that he’ll continue to miss time from time to time.

Munich’s reaction was ambiguous. “Real have already asked Munich about the possibility of negotiating a deal for the Canadian international and have not received a definite refusal,” according to Marca.

Munich’s situation. The Bavarians came close to winning the league title this season after failing to complete the treble, and they let go of chairman Oliver Kahn and coach Hasan Salihamidzic at the end of the season. Davies’ agent, Nedal Hussein, said: “It’s a turbulent time at Munich. There is too much instability and uncertainty in the club’s future.”

Real have already traveled to Munich twice, according to Marca, to make faster progress in negotiations and to do the usual pre-bid groundwork with the player’s agents. 토토사이트
